Introduction: Information and communication technology (ICT) has been proposed as an important tool for improving health education and building research capacity in developing countries. The study aimed to investigate graduate students views of Mashhad Faculty of Paramedical Sciences regarding the use of ICT and its impact on health research.

Materials and Methods : This cross-sectional study was conducted from September 2023 to February 2024. A pre-developed questionnaire was used in order to collect data (Cronbach’s alpha: 78%). After localization and approval of the questionnaire by a panel of experts, the questionnaire was distributed electronically among graduate students of the Mashhad Faculty of Paramedical Sciences who were willing to participate in this project. The questionnaire included four parts and it contained 31 questions which are Demographic information, history of using ICT, use of tools and attitudes towards ICT. Data analysis has been performed using R software version 4.

Results: A total of 54%students responded to the questionnaire. 36.7% of students stated that they used ICT tools in their recent research activities. However, 67.3% of students stated that they did not have any formal or informal education in any aspect of ICT. 75% of the participants stated that if they wanted to take a course of clinical research and public health ICT classes, they would choose the workshops for training. There was not any significant relationship between students’ level of ICT knowledge for using in research with variables such as gender (P = 0.393), field of study (P = 0.395), and previous education (P = 0.491).

Conclusion: Our findings showed that the use of ICT for paramedical science graduate students is very important for their research activities; however, they lacked ICT-related training. The results indicate the need to hold numerous workshops related to ICT in health research for graduate students.
