Introduction: Improving the quality of clinical and paraclinical education requires continuous review of the current situation, recognition of strengths, and correction of weaknesses. This study aimed to determine the status of clinical education from the students’ perspective of the paramedical faculty of Aja University of Medical Sciences.
Materials and Methods: This study was conducted using a cross-sectional descriptive method in the second semester of 2023-2024. 162 students of emergency medicine, laboratory science, health information technology, radiology, anesthesia, and operating room technology, who were studying at Aja paramedical faculty, were participated in this study. Students, who had studied at least one unit of course in the hospital, were asked to complete a 36-choice questionnaire in a self-reported form. The data were analyzed through descriptive statistics (mean, standard deviation, and table) and analytical statistics (ANOVA analysis) using SPSS software.
Results: The average age of the students was 22.1± 3.48 years. The statistical analysis showed that there is not any significant relationship between the status of the five areas of clinical education and the type of study field (p>0.05). Furthermore, the performance of the educational groups (emergency medicine, laboratory, technology, health information, operating room technology, radiology, and anesthesia) was evaluated as average 73.03±12.37.
Conclusion: In this study, there was not any unfavorable conditions in the area of clinical and paraclinical education. However, basic planning is necessary to improve the quality of clinical and paraclinical education by the authorities.
