Introduction: One of the topics in the field of human resources is the concept of performance management. Performance management is an activity that aims to optimize and integrate all facilities in line with employee performance. In fact, it is the transformation of raw human resource skills into performance. One of the factors of promoting performance management is the application of professional ethics in the organization. Professional ethics is a set of principles and standards that determine the behavior and performance of employees in an organizational structure and it actually deals with the way a person performs and behaves during the profession. Furthermore, professional ethics has a great impact on employee performance management and it increases the performance and efficiency of the organization. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of professional ethics on the performance management of the official staff of the Central Organization of Mashhad University of Medical
Sciences.
Methods and Materials: In this descriptive-survey study, the samples included 150 official employees of the Central Organization of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, which were selected by simple random sampling technique. Data were collected using demographic and professional ethics tools and employee performance management. Data were analyzed using inferential statistics.
Results: Professional ethics and performance management are desirable with a significance level of 0.061 and 0.065 respectively (T> 0.05). Other findings showed that there is a positive relationship between employees social responsibility (4.220).
Discussion and Conclusion: Since there is a positive relationship between professional ethics and most areas of performance management and employees, managers should pay attention to the employees performance management that is affected by professional ethics.
