Recent studies have shown that a nurse&#39;s clinical competence and self-confidence are very important in the field of treatment. This study was conducted with the aim of determining the correlation between clinical competence and selfconfidence in nursing students at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in 1400.<br> <br> <strong>Materials and Methods:</strong> This was a descriptive-analytical cross-sectional study. 180 students of the seventh and eighth semesters of nursing (all nursing students) of the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in 1400 participated in the study. Data were collected by completing the demographic information questionnaires, and self-confidence questionnaires by Ghofrani et al. adapted from Rosenberg in 1969 and clinical competence questionnaires by Bahreini et al. adapted from the questionnaire by Martoja in 2003. Moreover, the validity and reliability of the questionnaires have been performed. To determine the relationship between two quantitative variables, Pearson correlation test was used due to its normal distribution and linear regression test was used to correlate demographic variables with research variables using SPSS software version 19.<br> <br> <strong>Results:</strong> The mean score of total clinical competence was 54.77 &plusmn; 13.10 and the mean self-confidence in nursing students was 21.34 &plusmn; 5.24. There was a significant direct relationship between clinical competence and self-confidence (P=0.03).<br> <br> <strong>Conclusion:</strong> Learning the necessary knowledge and skills can increase the clinical competence of nursing students.
