Introduction: Today, new technologies have been used in order to increase competitiveness and increase the quality of services in organizations providing health services. The purpose of this study is to investigate the applications of IoT technology in the field of health.
Methods and Materials: This review study was conducted in 1400. In this study, PubMed and Scopus databases and English articles were searched in the period of 2015 onwards. Health, hospital, treatment health care and IoT keywords has been used as searching strategy. Moreover, a search was made in the title and summary of the articles. 22 articles were reviewed out of 214 studies.
Results: The use of IoT technology accelerates the healing process, improves the quality of services provided and reduces financial costs. This technology is used in various parts of health care organizations from emergency to treatment management of chronic diseases. Fast data collection, transmission and analysis are other benefits of using this technology in the healthcare industry. One of the most important challenges in using this technology in the field of health is information confidentiality.
Discussion and Conclusion: Although the Internet of Things can play an important role in the management of health care services, the use of this technology in hospitals and health care centers is facing problems. Therefore, identifying the obstacles and challenges in this field and trying to overcome them will lead to a bright future for this technology in the field of health.
